Detailed descriptions of the rulesets[]

3.5E[]

The 3.5E ruleset, developed by SmiteWorks Ltd., appears to be a more recent incarnation of the d20 ruleset released with FG v2.5. Any reference material created for the d20 ruleset can also be used in this ruleset.

Arcana Evolved[]

The Castles & Crusades ruleset was developed by Digital Adventures.

Ars Magica[]

There is a FGII ruleset for Ars Magica. The ruleset has been created by a user known as Oberoten on the Fantasy Grounds message boards with permission from Atlas Games. The Ars Magica ruleset non-commercial, and available free of charge.

Call of Cthulhu[]

The Call of Cthulhu ruleset, commercially available for download, was developed by Digital Adventures under a license from Chaosium.

Castles & Crusades[]

The Castles & Crusades ruleset was developed by Digital Adventures.

d20[]

The d20 ruleset, developed by SmiteWorks Ltd., is commonly referred to as the default ruleset. It is included in the install package of FGII and most other rulesets borrow from it in one way or another. The definition files of the d20 ruleset are provided for use under the [OGL]. The Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 can be played with this ruleset.

d20_JPG[]

This ruleset, available at Four Ugly Monsters, provides the means to play Dungeons & Dragons v3.5 using Fantasy Grounds II. This ruleset is very detailed, but does not contain any reference material. Any modules created for the d20 ruleset are compatible with this ruleset.

d20 Modern[]

The d20 Modern ruleset was developed by Digital Adventures.

GURPS[]

The Generic Universal RolePlaying System by Steve Jackson Games was converted in a FGII ruleset by a person known as Spyke on the Fantasy Grounds messageboards. It is a non-commercial ruleset available for download free of charge.

Iron Heroes[]

The Iron Heroes ruleset was developed by Digital Adventures under license.

Rolemaster classic[]

The Rolemaster Classic ruleset, commercially available for download, was developed by Digital Adventures under a license from Iron Crown Enterprises.

Savage Worlds[]

A ruleset for the Savage Worlds RPG system was developed by Digital Adventures and is commercially available for download. There are also a number of Savage Worlds supplements for FGII. This ruleset was built in accordance with Steve Jackson Games online policy.

Shaintar[]

Digital Adventures and Talisman Studios present this epic high fantasy setting of Shaintar with Savage Worlds rules as a separate ruleset.
